Corvias Foundation Hosts Most Successful Fundraising Event Yet
Corvias is a Warwick, Rhode Island, firm specializing in infrastructure development, typically in partnership with the military, institutions of higher learning, and state and federal governments. Across all its projects, Corvias works to establish community connections and make a sustainable difference in the world.
The company is one of the largest providers of on-campus housing in the United States, having developed infrastructure for more than 15 colleges around the country. It has also installed solar facilities on a variety of military installations, thus far completing around half of its targeted generation of 70 megawatts of solar power. In addition, Corvias was one of the military’s first private partners, clearing billions of dollars’ worth of maintenance backlogs.
Giving Back through the Corvias Foundation
Corvias gives back in a number of other ways, especially by encouraging volunteerism among its staff and facilitating education and skills development for military families. Much of this work is done through the Corvias Foundation, which was founded in 2006 and partners with several like-minded organizations in supporting military spouses and family members with scholarships and educational opportunities. Frequent Corvias Foundation partners include the National Military Family Association, which advocates for military families and provides the Military Spouse Scholarship program; and the Army Scholarship Foundation, which provides higher education scholarships to military spouses and children.
Corvias Foundation has provided more than $20 million of scholarships and support to military families over the years. It also awards scholarships to children of Corvias employees, many of whom are connected to the military themselves. In addition, the foundation has created Opportunity Hubs, which connect military families with a variety of educational resources and programs. The foundation also facilitates K-12 school success programs; counseling related to college, scholarships, and professional skills development; and a wide range of literary support.
Tee Up Fore Our Future
To support its philanthropic work, Corvias Foundation undertakes a number of fundraising initiatives throughout the year. One of the biggest and most anticipated is the Tee Up Fore Our Future golf event, which helps fund programs and support for military-connected students from primary school through college.
The 2025 Tee Up Fore Our Future was a runaway success—it was the foundation’s most successful fundraising initiative in two decades, with 150 participants and 30 sponsors. The event welcomed a wide variety of business leaders for a day of fun on the golf course. Participants also learned about the needs of military families and the importance of supporting them in pursuit of their education goals.
“Golfers enjoyed a terrific course while supporting the mission to empower military families to achieve their educational and career dreams,” explained Corvias Foundation executive director Julie Allen in a press statement. During the event, Ms. Allen announced that the foundation would be extending its services to six new military installations—an expansion that was made possible by the event’s fundraising success.
Lea Johnson, executive director of the Veteran’s Spouse Project, also spoke at the event. She leads a nonprofit that provides opportunities for military spouses to share their stories through creative arts and writing workshops, documentary-style videos, and theatrical productions. By empowering military spouses to share their experiences—both the happy times and the challenging—the nonprofit brings healing and support to military families. At Tee Up Fore Our Future, Johnson spoke on these themes. She explained to participants and attendees how the challenges of military life can affect military spouses and children, including frequent moves and the stress of having absent family members during deployments. She noted that the event “shows families like mine something profound: we are not alone.”
Funds raised at the 2025 Tee Up Fore Our Future will support a variety of initiatives. They will help fund the Corvias Foundation Opportunity Hubs, which was originally launched at Fort Bragg but has now expanded to include a number of other military facilities. These hubs enable military families to access school resources, scholarships, information about higher education and related financial aid, professional skills development, career programs, and internships.
The money raised at the event will also help support the College Connection website, which hosts professional college advice and resources for military families. Finally, the funds will help continue the foundation’s new project, the Corvias Closets program. This initiative will deliver nutritious snacks, school supplies, art supplies, science materials, and additional educational essentials to students in need at schools on military bases. Fort Bragg will be the first military base to benefit from the program.
Celebrating the success of the event, Corvias CEO Chris Wilson thanked the many sponsors who made it possible and who continue to demonstrate their support to the important work that Corvias and the Corvias Foundation do.
